Election 2026 Date Announcement LIVE: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced the schedule for the upcoming 2026 Assembly Elections in five regions – West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Puducherry.

According to the announcement, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry will go to the polls in a single phase on April 9. Tamil Nadu will also vote in a single phase on April 23.

In West Bengal, voting will take place in two phases – April 23 and April 29.

The counting of votes for all four states and the Union Territory of Puducherry will be conducted on May 4.

The current terms of these legislative assemblies are scheduled to end between May and June 2026, prompting the Election Commission to release the election schedule.
