Voter Help

Voting With a Disability or as an Older Voter

A volunteer helps an older man in a wheelchair up a ramp into a polling station beside a voter with a white cane

Ramps, wheelchairs, priority entry, a companion in the booth, and home voting. Most of it depends on your entry being marked first.

How to Change Your Address on the Electoral Roll

A young couple carry moving boxes into their new apartment building as a neighbour waves from a balcony

Moved house? You usually file Form 8 for shifting of residence, not a fresh registration. It goes to the officer for your new address, not your old one.

What Is an EPIC Number?

A father and his adult daughter listen as the owner of a small computer centre explains something at the counter

The EPIC number is the unique code on your voter ID card. It is how the Election Commission identifies you, and it is what almost every online service asks for.

How to Find Your Polling Booth

An elderly couple walk along a desert village lane towards the school building where they will vote

Your polling station is assigned by the Election Commission and can change between elections. Here is how to confirm it before polling day.

Postal Ballots and Voting Away From Home

Two polling officials sit with an elderly woman in a wheelchair at her home as her son looks on

A defined set of electors may vote by post, and some can vote at home. Both routes are narrower than people assume.
