Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari attacks Kejriwal government over power cuts
The Delhi unit of the BJP has attacked the AAP government over power cuts and an irregular water supply in the city. The party accused the government of taking “revenge” on residents because AAP was defeated in the recent municipal (MCD) elections.
Protest planned
Speaking at a press conference, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari said his party would hold a large protest outside Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence the following day. He said the aim was to demand answers from the chief minister about the difficulties people in Delhi were facing.
Tiwari’s charge
Tiwari claimed that Kejriwal had openly warned before the civic polls that if AAP lost, people should be prepared for higher electricity tariffs and a hard summer. According to Tiwari, what the city was now experiencing showed that warning being carried out. AAP’s response to the allegation was not part of the report.
