BJP to sweep Delhi civic elections, predict two opinion polls
Two opinion polls published on the eve of Delhi’s municipal elections projected that the BJP, which currently runs the city’s corporations, would win all three. Of the 272 seats, one survey gave the party 195 and the other 179. Both put the Aam Aadmi Party a long way behind in second place, on 55 and 45 seats, with the Congress trailing even further.

This poll did not break down its projection by corporation, but a BJP total of 195 points to comfortable majorities in all three. It gave the Congress only 15 seats across the city.

Vote share
The ABP News poll estimated the BJP’s vote share at 41.9%, close to its showing in the 2014 Lok Sabha election. AAP was projected at 27.5%, well below the almost 55% it secured in the 2015 assembly election, a steep decline.
