Siddaramaiah Caught on Camera Slapping Congress Worker Outside Mysore Airport

download

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress leader Siddaramaiah was caught on camera on Tuesday slapping a party worker outside Mysore Airport. The man had been handing Siddaramaiah a phone, which angered the leader, who then hit him.

The visit

Siddaramaiah was travelling to Mysore and Kodagu to assess the situation after the floods. His trip came as the Congress was dealing with another controversy, the arrest of its troubleshooter DK Shivakumar. After the arrest, a number of party workers protested outside Shivakumar’s home, and several were reported to have travelled to Mysore to meet Siddaramaiah.

Previous incidents

This is not the first time Siddaramaiah has lost his temper in public. In January this year he made news for pushing a party leader in Mysore while hearing public complaints. In 2016 he faced controversy over claims that he slapped an official at the Valmiki Bhawan in Bellari, which he dismissed at the time as “false propaganda” by the media.
