How to Check Your Voter ID Application Status Online

Track a Form 6, 6A, 6B, 7 or 8 application using your Reference ID, and what to do if it is rejected or delayed.

Every application you submit on the Voters’ Service Portal — a new registration (Form 6), NRI registration (Form 6A), Aadhaar linking (Form 6B), an objection (Form 7), or a correction (Form 8) — gets a Reference ID the moment you submit it. Use that Reference ID to track what happens next.

Steps

  1. Open Track Application Status. Visit voters.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline app and look for “Track Application Status,” whichever form you originally submitted.
  2. Enter your Reference ID and state. You were shown this Reference ID immediately after submitting, and it was also sent to you by SMS or email at the time.
  3. Find it another way if you lost it. Log in to the portal with your registered mobile number — your submitted applications are listed on your own profile even without the Reference ID.
  4. Read the status shown. An application typically moves from received, to under verification (a Booth Level Officer may visit or call to confirm your details), to a final decision.
  5. If accepted, your name appears in the electoral roll, and for a new registration, your e-EPIC becomes available to download — see our e-EPIC download guide.
  6. If rejected or delayed, the reason is shown on the status page and sent by SMS. You can correct the issue and reapply, or call the Voter Helpline on 1950 (toll-free) for help.
