Sukhdev Rajbhar of the Bahujan Samaj Party won Didarganj in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election with 62,125 votes (33.15%), defeating Adil Shaikh of the Samajwadi Party, who polled 58,480 votes (31.2%). The winning margin was 3,645 votes.
