Mohammad Aslam of the Bahujan Samaj Party won Bhinga in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election with 76,040 votes (33.71%), defeating Alekshendra Kant Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, who polled 69,950 votes (31.01%). The winning margin was 6,090 votes.
