How to Correct or Update Voter ID Details

If there is a spelling mistake, wrong photo, changed address or any other error in your Voter ID, you can fix it online using Form 8.

Steps to correct your Voter ID

1. Log in at voters.eci.gov.in or open the Voter Helpline app.
2. Select Form 8 — Correction / Shifting / Replacement / PwD marking.
3. Choose the change type: correction of details, change of address, or replacement of EPIC.
4. Enter your EPIC number and the corrected details.
5. Upload supporting documents (e.g., address proof for a change of address).
6. Submit and note the reference ID to track your request.

Common corrections

• Name, relative’s name or date of birth
• Photograph
• Address (shifting)
• Gender or other entry errors
