Voter ID Forms Explained: Form 6, 6A, 6B, 7 and 8
The Election Commission uses a few simple forms for all voter services. Here is what each one is for.
The forms at a glance
- Form 6 — New voter registration (add your name to the electoral roll).
- Form 6A — Registration for overseas (NRI) electors.
- Form 6B — Linking your Aadhaar number with your Voter ID.
- Form 7 — Objection to inclusion or request to delete a name (death, shifted or duplicate).
- Form 8 — Correction of details, shifting of address, replacement of EPIC, or PwD marking.
Where to submit
All forms can be filled online at voters.eci.gov.in or through the Voter Helpline app. You may also submit them to your Booth Level Officer.
